Skin Rejuvenation and Health

by Dr. Nathaniel Shober

You all may know that skin is the largest organ in our body or on our body.  As a Naturopathic Doctor, I look to the skin to see how the internal health of a patient is doing.  When assessing a patient, some of the questions I ask are: How is your liver? How is your gut? How are you functioning internally? All of these things show outwardly on your skin.  But aside from just internal health, we all like to feel good and we all like to have that high moral about ourselves. We like to look good and skin is the very first thing that we all notice about ourselves.  Our new Skin Rejuvenation Treatment can help the appearance of your skin!

How do we keep our skin healthy?

1)     Diet – In particular, increase your antioxidants and decrease your sugar consumption.  Sugar is linked to weakening collagen fibers by binding to them so we lose that elasticity and our skin becomes less firm and we get that saggy appearance.

2)     Hydration – Maintain good hydration as this is very important for skin health.

3)     Exercise – Oddly enough exercise is also very important for skin health as it produces and boosts our nitric oxide production.

4)     UV light – Limit your UV exposure.

What else can I do?

At North Coast Family Health, we have a exciting new Skin Rejuvenation Treatment that helps diminish fine lines, wrinkles, and scaring.  This treatment involves:

1)     Lasers

2)     Skin Microneedling

3)     PRP

4)     Ozone Therapy

5)     Reiki

Skin Microneedling is an FDA approved process. It is used to boost collagen production and is very effective.  By combining this with Ozone, PRP, and Lasers we have a dynamite treatment that is really effective and long lasting.
